Amsterdam’s Workspace Design Show 2025 brings sensory storytelling to the workplace
The Workspace Design Show Amsterdam 2025 (5–6 November, RAI Amsterdam, Hall 5) is set to transform the conversation around workplace design into an immersive, multi-sensory experience. This year’s edition, themed “Activate the Senses”, invites visitors to see, touch, hear, and feel the evolving nature of the modern workspace through a series of five curated feature spaces created by leading Dutch design studios.

Each installation brings to life a personal design narrative, blending material innovation with emotional connection. The Design Talks Space, designed by UNS and sponsored by Big Brands, embodies the creative chaos of collaboration. “During brainstorming, someone joked that the space should ‘hear the audience,’ which snowballed into a full-on ear study session where team members compared photos of their own ears.” From this playful exchange grew an acoustically attuned environment crafted entirely from reclaimed materials, forming what UNS calls “a sustainable meeting ground where repurposed elements dissolve boundaries.”
At the Occupiers Forum Space, Casper Schwarz Architects interpret the idea of “speakers – both as voices and objects.” Floating forms, colour gradients and transparent boundaries create a world that “amplifies the experience of engaging speakers and draws the audience into their stories.”
The Radiance Visitor Lounge, designed by M Moser Associates, is inspired by the rhythm of daylight. “Rather than starting with furniture, the designers built an emotional gradient from soft morning calm to evening glow.” With circadian lighting, curated soundscapes and signature scents, the space evolves from focused mornings to lively evenings, creating a dynamic social hub for visitors.
Mecanoo’s Workplace Experience Talks pavilion reimagines human-centred collaboration through observation and instinct rather than technology. “Wooden sticks represent structure. Woven textiles represent softness. Together they create ambiguous borders that invite movement.”

Finally, the Biophilic Design Academy presents the Mood Board Contest Area, where nature itself becomes collaborator. Founder Lianne “sat against a tree… and asked herself: what if a trade show stand could breathe like this moment?” Visitors are invited to craft tactile mood boards inspired by biophilic principles, engaging directly with sustainable materials and ideas.
Running once every two years, Workspace Design Show Amsterdam unites global occupiers, architects and designers to explore the future of workplace environments. Registration is free at workspaceshow.nl.
