The Interior Designer Behind Grapevine Dove Station, Where No Two Homes Are Identical

Buying a custom home often conjures images of choosing paint colors, flooring styles, and hardware finishes. They’re big decisions for sure, but for a truly custom home, there’s so much more.
At Maykus Homes and Neighborhoods, “custom” means something more. Each home comes not only with walls and a roof, but also one-on-one design time with April Littmann, the award-winning interior designer behind Neighbor Interiors. Littmann and her partner, Adam, are the dynamic duo working with Maykus Homes on the company’s newest neighborhood in Grapevine, Dove Station.

More than Color Choices
Littmann likes to blend transitional and contemporary elements with natural touches in her designs. Her projects often feature carefully curated color palettes and a sense of harmony that reflects her clients’ individual goals for their homes.
As founder and lead designer of Neighbor Interiors, Littmann believes homes should be more than functional spaces. According to her design philosophy, they should reflect the visions of the people who live in them.
“We dive into the clients’ likes and dislikes from a functional and aesthetic perspective,” Littmann said. “It’s a pretty deep dive into what their design style is.”

Before launching her own firm, Littmann worked with homebuilders and multi-family developers, which earned her professional recognition, including the Luxe Red Residential Excellence in Design Award in 2021. She graduated cum laude from Sam Houston State University, where she earned her bachelor’s degree in interior design. Littmann remains active in the North Texas community as a member of the Fort Worth Builders Association and the Southlake Chamber of Commerce.
No Two Alike
Littmann ensures that no two homes in Dove Station will ever look alike. Working with Jan Maykus, part of the Maykus Homes and Neighborhoods’ family business, Littmann will tailor each residence to reflect the personality and lifestyle of its owners, from floor plan to finish.
“This neighborhood represents our commitment to delivering the finest in custom home design and building,” said Eason Maykus, president of his family’s homebuilding business. “Dove Station is an intimate community for those who value exceptional craftsmanship, luxury finishes, and the perfect location.”
Prices in the development start at $1.3 million, with the new builds required to measure a minimum of 2,400 square feet. The 19 available lots in the Dove Station community range in size from 6,000 to 10,000 square feet, offering space for custom touches, whether that means a backyard putting green or a low‑maintenance landscape designed for casual living. Two additional home builders, Graham Hart and Jason Parker, also are constructing new residences in Dove Station, which is zoned for Southlake Carroll Independent School District, even though it’s located within Grapevine’s city limits. Its centerpiece street, Kosse Court, honors business founder Kosse Maykus, tying the development’s future to its founding family.

Littmann just completed her design collaboration of Dove Station’s model home, which she describes as “laid-back luxury.”
“It’s approachable and livable, yet still elevated,” she said.
With Littmann’s eye for detail and the builders’ commitment to quality, this neighborhood promises to be as distinctive as the families in Northeast Tarrant County.
